The Institute is currently offering two levels of Certificates of Training for GHG Accounting Experts.

The Level 1 program consists of the following courses:

•Basics course in Organizational GHG Accounting
•Basics course in Project-level GHG Accounting
•Setting up a GHG information system for Organizations

The Level 1 program offers a “Basics of GHG Accounting” Certificate of Training. In celebration of our first 6 months, we are offering the Level 1 Certificate of Program for US$ 2900. This includes the tuition for all three courses and all of the associated proficiency exams. Separately, the Level 1 Program would cost $5,550. The special offer represents a savings of 47%. The Level 2 program consists of the following courses:

•Level 1 Program or equivalent
•Advanced course in Organizational GHG Accounting
•Advanced course in Project-level GHG Accounting
•One cross-cutting or sector-specific course (a course from another category may be substituted with permission of the Dean)

The Level 2 program offers an “Advanced GHG Accounting” Certificate of Training. The package fee for this program is USD 7,000. This includes the tuition for all six courses and all of the associated proficiency exams. Separately, the Level 2 Program would cost $11,100. The package represents a savings of 36%. In response to growing global interest, The Greenhouse Gas Management Institute ("Institute") was conceived to be the preeminent international professional association for GHG practitioners. After our recent launch, the not-for-profit Institute has drafted codes, policies, qualifications and professional programs necessary to support a well-designed and functioning organization for a credible and respected global membership of professionals.

Achieving consensus on these aspects of the Institute requires much effort on behalf of the many volunteers that support us during this initial phase. We invite you to contact us if you have suggestions or questions, or if you would like to contribute to the development of these fundamental components of the Institute.

In addition to the numerous training courses under development and coming online, of immediate importance to the success and growth of the Institute and the profession of GHG practitioners is the development of the following:

1. Code of Ethics and Responsibilities for Professional Conduct by which GHG practitioners agree to uphold to promote professional behavior,
2. Framework and activities for Members in the GHG Management Institute to support development of an international community to learn and exchange among each other, and
3. Various Professional Programs to define the training and experience requirements to qualify GHG practitioners as experts in specific areas.
